At last night’s City Council meeting, the Happy Valley Parks and Recreation Foundation presented the Happy Valley Youth Council with a check for $3,000. The contribution aims to further empower the Youth Council in their role of nurturing and enhancing the well-being of the youth in our community.
The Youth Council has been actively engaged in various initiatives that strive to bolster the voice of our youngest community members. Their commitment ranges from organizing the annual Rx Drug Take Back and Car Care Clinic events, to spearheading youth well-being campaigns that highlight mental health. They have expanded their yearly Happy Valley Youth Town Hall event to include the Oregon Youth Summit, a state-wide meeting of student leaders, and even travel to Washington D.C. each spring to participate in the National League of Cities annual conference. Throughout these endeavors, the Youth Council has consistently championed their mission to improve the lives of young people by offering guidance and opportunities for healthy living. On behalf of the City’s Youth Council, thank you to the Happy Valley Parks and Recreation Foundation for this contribution.
