Earlier today, Mayor Ellis, Councilors Golobay and Sherman, and several City staff members toured the City of Hillsboro’s Hidden Creek Community Center. Visiting nearby community centers is all part of the process towards bringing a similar facility to Happy Valley.
The tour provided valuable insights into crucial project needs, including operations, construction, and budget. While it doesn’t have aquatics yet, the Hidden Creek Community Center has all the other amenities that have been prioritized by the Happy Valley community.
For Happy Valley, the prioritization of aquatics, multi-court gyms, a walking track, a community room and kitchen, exercise equipment, and more was determined through multiple community surveys and input from the Parks Advisory Committee, the Happy Valley Community Center Steering Committee, and the City Council.
With a feasibility study complete, the next phase in the process is for the City to hire an architectural firm to take our high-level conceptual drawings to the next step. To learn more, visit our designated page.
